Registered Mental Health Nurse (equivalent to NHS band 5)

£28,447 - £34,951 per annum based on an FTE of £33,987 - £41,757 FTE per annum (Dependent on experience & qualifications)

37.5 hours per week, based on a term only contract of 38 weeks per (combination of days and evenings) (flexible hours)

About the Role

Provide comprehensive mental health care for students, including assessments, interventions, risk management, first aid, drop-ins, and follow-up of non-attendance.
Lead safeguarding practice, acting on concerns promptly, complying with safeguarding, Prevent and Mental Capacity legislation, and protecting children and vulnerable adults.
Work collaboratively across teams and agencies, contributing to multi-agency plans, Fitness to Study/Reside reviews, departmental meetings, and residential support services.
Maintain professional standards and governance, including accurate confidential records, consent to care, NMC Code compliance, and robust documentation.
Promote wellbeing, equality and prevention, delivering health promotion, student workshops, staff CPD, and supporting inductions and awareness initiatives.
Engage in leadership and professional development, contributing to steering groups, influencing policy, reviewing disclosures, and maintaining mandatory training and flexible working commitments.

About You

Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse)
NMC Pin
Experience working in a mental health setting with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection within a college or educational environment.
Knowledge and awareness of mental health risk behaviours.
Post registration experience required
