A well-established architectural practice is looking to appoint an Architectural Technologist to join its growing team in Hereford.
This is a unique opportunity to work on an exceptionally diverse portfolio of projects ranging from contemporary new-build developments through to Grade I listed buildings, heritage assets and Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The practice has built a strong reputation across the region for delivering high-quality architecture while also specialising in the conservation, repair and restoration of some of the country’s most significant historic structures.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and passionate team where no two projects are the same. Whether working on bespoke residential schemes, commercial developments, church repairs, conservation projects or heritage-led refurbishments, you’ll gain exposure to every stage of the design and delivery process.
This role would suit an Architectural Technologist who enjoys technical problem-solving, working closely with clients and consultants, and contributing to projects that genuinely make a lasting impact on the built environment.
You will be responsible for:
Producing detailed technical drawing packages and construction information
Supporting projects from planning through to construction delivery
Working on a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and conservation schemes
Preparing technical details, specifications and construction documentation
Coordinating information with consultants, contractors and stakeholders
Assisting with planning, listed building and heritage applications
Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and technical standards
Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections
Supporting project delivery through RIBA work stages
Managing project documentation and drawing revisions
Working closely with senior architects and project teams
Contributing technical expertise throughout the design lifecycle
Previous experience as an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician
Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Experience producing technical drawing packages
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
Experience working on residential, commercial or heritage projects
Knowledge of conservation or listed buildings would be advantageous
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Passion for architecture and the built environment
