Full job description

Are you looking for a position that offers a great work/life balance? We deliver this. Consistantly working no more than 40-45 hours a week, finish times around 9pm as we close the kitchen at 8pm.

We are looking for a superstar chef to support the kitchen. The right person will thrive in a fast paced environment, has a passion for good locally sourced Scottish food and love our industry which is the vision for our company.

Your work environment will be fun, fast paced and rewarding. We are about the people and have our team at the forefront of everything we do.

Your responsibilities would include the following;

- Prepare food: Cook food for a specific section of the menu, such as meat, fish, vegetables, sauces, or pastries

- Ensure quality: Make sure food is prepared correctly and meets customer and regulatory standards

- Maintain the kitchen: Keep the kitchen clean and operational

- Support other chefs: Assist the head and sous chefs, and supervise junior chefs

- Manage orders: Handle purchase orders and ensure all goods received are correct

- Follow procedures: Adhere to health and hygiene standards, and follow food collection, preparation, and storage procedures

- Communicate: Interact with other kitchen staff, managers, and colleagues

Skills Required

- Experience in a previous Chef role in a busy environment

- Culinary skills and qualification desirable

- Leadership skills

- Teamwork skills

- Awareness of Food Safety legislation (Food Safety level 2 desirable)

- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, spec sheets and manuals

- Ability to present information and respond to questions

- Honesty

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
