The company sells artisan pasta dishes primarily through online delivery platforms, including Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat and other online ordering channels. The company requires a Market Research Analyst to carry out structured market research, analyse customer behaviour, review online food delivery trends and provide research based recommendations to support the company’s continued growth.
The Market Research Analyst will be responsible for researching and analysing the company’s position within the online food delivery market. The role will involve reviewing customer demand, competitor activity, pricing, menu performance, promotional trends, customer feedback, delivery platform performance and market opportunities. The purpose of the role is to provide clear research findings and practical recommendations to assist management in improving sales performance, customer retention, menu positioning and business growth.
The role will require the collection, review and interpretation of information from online delivery platforms, customer reviews, internal sales records, competitor menus, local market trends and wider food delivery sector research. The Market Research Analyst will prepare reports for the Director and Marketing and Commercial Manager and will make recommendations regarding pricing, packaging, menu development, promotional activity, customer targeting and online platform strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Research customer demand and online ordering trends within the local food delivery market.
- Analyse customer behaviour, repeat ordering patterns, peak trading periods and product demand across Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat and other online ordering platforms.
- Review competitor activity, including pricing, menu structure, promotional offers, delivery areas, customer ratings and market positioning.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative market research to identify opportunities for business growth and improved customer engagement.
- Examine customer reviews, ratings, complaints and feedback trends to identify areas requiring improvement.
- Assess the performance of menu items by reviewing sales data, customer preferences, order frequency and customer response.
- Research pricing, packaging, promotional activity and customer retention strategies within the online food delivery sector.
- Prepare written reports and presentations for the Director and Marketing and Commercial Manager.
- Present research findings and make recommendations regarding menu design, pricing, packaging, promotional activity and customer targeting.
- Liaise with management and operational staff to understand business needs, customer issues and internal process challenges.
- Support the development of research methods for reviewing customer demand, market trends and promotional effectiveness.
- Review digital platform performance and identify market based reasons for changes in order volume, customer ratings or sales performance.
- Assist management in making informed decisions on business growth, new customer groups, delivery areas, product positioning and promotional planning.
- Use management and sustainability knowledge to support practical recommendations on efficient resource use, avoidable waste reduction and improved business procedures where relevant to the company’s operations.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
The role requires a candidate with a strong understanding of market research, business management, customer behaviour, data interpretation, commercial analysis and business improvement. A degree level qualification in management, business, sustainability, marketing, research, operations or a related subject is suitable for the role.
Pay: £38,800.00 per year
