We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Art & Design Lecturer to join our highly successful Creative Industries Faculty at our Abingdon campus. This is an exciting opportunity to work with motivated learners, helping them develop their creative, technical and professional skills while preparing them for progression into higher education and the creative industries. You will play a key role in delivering an engaging curriculum, supporting student achievement and contributing to the continued success of a vibrant and forward-thinking department.
You will:

Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Art & Design programmes, motivating students to achieve their full potential.
- Create innovative learning experiences and resources that support student success.
- Apply your practical skills and industry expertise to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and responsive to industry needs.
- Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress effectively.
- Foster an inclusive and creative learning environment that promotes collaboration, respect and equality.
- Contribute to quality improvement activities, student recruitment events and departmental development.
- Support student recruitment through interviews, information, advice and guidance activities.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional practice.
You will have:

Experience within the creative industries and a strong understanding of current practice and emerging trends.
- Ideally, experience delivering University of the Arts London (UAL) qualifications at Levels 1–4.
- A degree or professional qualification in Art & Design or a related subject.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, student-centred approach.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with developments in your specialist area.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction, followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET), and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. There is also the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at a later stage.
