Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that high-quality baked goods are produced efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a keen interest in the culinary arts, with a focus on maintaining food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and baking of various bakery products, including pasties, pies, and cakes.
Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, mixers, and other baking tools.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Assist with packaging and displaying finished products for sale.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or bakery environment is preferred but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques.
Understanding of food safety standards and practices.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for baking and cooking.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the bakery's operational needs.
