Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (mot tester an advantage but not essential) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. The position suitable for individuals with a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. Overtime sometimes available and paid at time and a half, bonus payments and the opportunity for further income available. 8.30-5 Monday to Friday

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults and issues
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and accurately
Interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose complex problems
Assemble or replace vehicle parts as required, ensuring proper fitment and function
No welding
Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre changes and fluid replacements
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and professionally

Skills

Strong understanding of vehicle schematics and mechanical systems
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Experience in assembly, disassembly, and equipment repair processes
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various vehicle types
Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams accurately
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
Capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
