Dance Instructor (Freelance, Part-Time)
Location: Taunton & across South Somerset
Overview
We’re expanding across South Somerset and are now looking for a passionate Dance Instructor to run family and adult dance classes during weekday evenings and at weekends in the Taunton area and surrounding locations.
With multiple locations already established across the UK, this is a brilliant opportunity to become part of a growing dance movement that values confidence, connection, and community just as much as technique.

The Role
This is a part-time freelance role, with the option to increase hours over time if desired.
You’ll lead your own evening and weekend adult and family classes. With the option to cover our weekday children's classes if cover is ever needed.

Key Responsibilities
Lead engaging classes
Plan and deliver fun, inclusive dance sessions for adults, families, and young people, using street, hip-hop, and contemporary styles.
Create choreography
Develop age-appropriate and engaging routines for classes, showcases, and performances where applicable.
Inspire and support
Encourage confidence, self-expression, and skill development through positive feedback and clear guidance.
Organise rehearsals and sessions
Ensure participants feel prepared, supported, and excited about performances or class progression.
Collaborate as part of a team
Work alongside other instructors and staff to support events, showcases, and community engagement.
Deliver community based sessions
Teach dance in schools, home-educated groups, birthday parties, and holiday clubs when required.
Marketing & Growth
Promote your classes locally
Share and promote sessions through social media and community outreach. Full marketing materials and support are provided.
Grow your classes
Earn enhanced pay for students you onboard and retain as your classes grow.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a dance instructor or professional dancer (essential)
- Confident leading your own classes independently
- Experience working with children and/or adults (minimum 1 year teaching experience)
- Strong communication skills and a supportive teaching style
- Dance qualifications or certifications are beneficial but not essential
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally
- Enhanced DBS required (support provided)
- First aid certificate required (support provided)
