Beacon Comms have an excellent opportunity for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our small, friendly team based at our offices in rural Somerset. This is a newly created role and would be ideally suited to someone who is keen to start their career in office administration
Our Junior Administrator will be supporting the office manager, taking on and proactively seeking opportunities to ensure that all of the administrative tasks of the office are up to date, as well as taking on responsibility for many of the day-to-day tasks related to a busy office and the projects we are running at any one time.
Previous experience is not essential as we are looking for someone with a great attitude who demonstrates the aptitude to be able to learn fast and apply that leaning to future projects.
This role will be challenging and diverse, however, the primary focus is administration and so being highly organised with a strong attention to detail and the ability to keep up your motivation levels even when some of the work may be considered repetitive or mundane is going to be essential, along with the appreciation and value for organisation and process in the running of any successful organisation.

This role offers great potential for the future for the right person, our hours are 0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday, this is a full-time position and will be based at our offices in Somerset, there are no opportunities for part-time or working from home offered with this role.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Answer, direct phone calls and take messages which are accurate and swiftly passed on to the relevant person
- Maintaining records and saving project information on correct folders /files.
- Data entry and maintaining databases.
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
- Pricing and purchasing of materials
- Troubleshooting on day to day issues
- Receipt and collation of site/project documentation
- Raising and management of purchase orders including cross referencing of associated invoices and queries
- Utilise Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Support the team with clerical duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, and mailing documents
- Ensure the office environment remains tidy and organised at all times
- Provide support with invoicing, billing, and basic bookkeeping tasks as needed
- Writing and issuing emails
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Day to day duties as they present themselves
Experience and Skills:
- Interested, enthusiastic and keen to learn with strong “can do” attitude.
- Previous office or administrative experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided to suitable candidates
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with professional phone etiquette
- Flexible in your approach to work and the working environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Organised with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Driving Licence and unrestricted access to your own transport will be essential in this role as commute via public transport is not possible
