24|7 Home Rescue is a leading company in the Heating and Plumbing industry. We are currently seeking a motivated, organised, and detail-oriented Fleet Operations & Stock Coordinator to join our dynamic team based in Burnley.
Position Overview
The Fleet Operations & Stock Coordinator will be responsible for managing and overseeing inventory levels, ensuring stock is readily available for daily operations, and maintaining accurate records of stock movement. The role will also support the day-to-day management of the company fleet, ensuring vehicles are prepared, compliant, and operational for engineers across the business.
This position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency by coordinating stock control, vehicle logistics, fleet administration, and engineer vehicle preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages.
- Organise and manage stock within the warehouse and designated storage areas.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of stock.
- Perform regular stock audits and inventory checks to maintain accurate records.
- Update stock records using inventory management systems.
- Support the preparation of stock reports and identify trends or issues.
- Assist in the distribution of stock to other departments as required.
- Follow health and safety regulations and ensure proper storage practices.
- Prepare company vehicles for newly employed engineers, including stock allocation and equipment checks.
- Manage van stock allocations and replenishments.
- Coordinate vehicle handovers and collections.
- Complete and maintain vehicle damage reports and associated documentation.
- Assist with fleet administration and vehicle record management.
- Support vehicle movements, transfers, collections and deliveries.
- Liaise with engineers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding vehicle and stock requirements.
- Assist with vehicle compliance checks and ensure company vehicle standards are maintained.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the Fleet and Stock Departments.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience in a stock management, warehouse, logistics, fleet administration, or similar operational role.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to think outside the box.
- Ability to undertake physical work, including lifting and moving stock.
- Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
- Must have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years.
- Must be eligible to drive company vehicles in accordance with the company's motor insurance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, analyse data, and produce reports.
- Experience using databases, inventory management systems, or fleet management software.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience using inventory management systems.
- Experience working within a fleet, engineering, transport, logistics, or field-service environment.
- Basic understanding of vehicle compliance and fleet operations.
