Gate Engineer / Automatic Gate Installer
South West Group
Bodmin, Cornwall
Competitive salary (depending on experience) + overtime + company vehicle

Join a trusted local company established since 1999.

South West Group are looking for an experienced and motivated Gate Engineer to join our growing team based in Bodmin, Cornwall.

We specialise in the installation, servicing and repair of automatic gates, barriers, bollards, garage doors and access control systems across Cornwall and the South West. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an engineer who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and customer service.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Installation of automatic swing and sliding gate systems
Fault finding, servicing and repairs on gate automation systems
Installation of access control equipment including intercoms, GSM systems and keypads
Working with electrical and mechanical components
Carrying out site visits across Cornwall and surrounding areas
Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional appearance on-site

Experience & Skills Required

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in automatic gates
Good fault-finding ability
Basic electrical knowledge (low voltage experience beneficial)
Strong practical and problem-solving skills
A positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence

Experience with:

Gate automation systems (BFT, CAME, FAAC, NICE etc.)
Access control systems
Welding or fabrication knowledge
Garage doors or industrial doors
