Position Summary
Reporting into the Technical Manager, you will be required to demonstrate quality assurance for our processes and products within the Technical Department. This is a fast-paced varied role which requires great attention to detail in a busy food environment and as such you will be required to react to the unforeseen in a proactive way.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Supporting the Production Manager and Operators with their responsibilities to food safety and quality including training.
- Evaluate process controls during production to ensure they comply with agreed specification and procedures.
- Complete quality checks in line with product specification, QAS and organoleptic requirements.
- Management of non-conforming products, QA Holds and product releases.
- Responsible for assisting and carrying out audits (BRC internal audits, Glass, and Plastic, CCP, GMP inspections, product and process, Temperature, pH, Cleaning, and metal detection)
- Monitoring of equipment performance and control through internal calibration of scales, pH meter and thermometers to ensure compliance.
- Amending of factory process control documentation and responsible for documenting checks accurately.
- Have knowledge of traceability tasks from start to finish.
- Induct all new starters and ensure relevant training is given to employees.
- Monthly allergen cleaning verification in line with random machines checks.
- Championing standards in the factory whilst not being afraid to challenge other members of staff.
- Tasting products if required.
Required Essential Skills and Qualification
- Previous experience in a similar role and sector
- The ability to speak and write fluent English.
- Mathematical aptitude.
