As we continue to invest in growth and operational development, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief Agriculture & Poultry Officer to lead and develop our agricultural and poultry operations across the United Kingdom.
Position Purpose
To provide strategic and operational leadership for the Company's agricultural and poultry operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, production efficiency, quality, and cost management, while supporting the sustainable growth and long-term development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all poultry and agricultural operations across the Sunrise Poultry Farms Ltd.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive business growth, productivity, and efficiency.
- Ensure the achievement of production targets and KPIs, including egg quality, flock performance, mortality levels, feed efficiency, and cost management objectives.
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, food safety, environmental, and health and safety requirements.
- Oversee flock health, vaccination, nutrition, ventilation, and lighting programmes.
- Lead and develop farm managers, technical and operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Analyse production and financial performance data, prepare reports, and develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Participate in budgeting processes, cost control initiatives, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Lead business modernisation, automation, investment, and development projects. Develop, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance plans.
- Maintain effective working relationships with veterinarians, nutritionists, auditors, suppliers, business partners, and regulatory authorities.
Candidate Requirements
- Higher education in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Food Technology, Agribusiness, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within a poultry, egg production, or agricultural business.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing production, agricultural, or operational activities and teams.
- Experience managing large-scale poultry, egg production, or agricultural operations will be considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of biosecurity, animal welfare, and production performance management.
- Proven experience leading teams, implementing change, and driving business improvement initiatives.
- Ability to analyse operational performance, make data-driven decisions, and lead continuous improvement programmes.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly between Company sites and undertake business travel outside the United Kingdom when required.
