Providing you with a fantastic opportunity, we are looking for friendly Accuracy Checking Technicians, who are enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated. You will work well in a team as well as independently. As an accuracy checker your attention to detail and pace will be instrumental in providing the best service to our customers. You must be qualified as an accuracy checker, registered with the GPHC and with at least 2 years Pharmacy experience.

Your responsibilities:
To carry out final checking of dispensed items according to the accuracy checking Standard Operating Procedures and provide assistance to pharmacy personnel when necessary.
To supervise and perform duties associated with the control and management of pharmacy systems and prescription dispensing.
To closely supervise the work of Pharmacy Technicians and dispensary team to ensure they are able to perform their duties efficiently and correctly.
To maintain and analyse a record/portfolio of errors detected in preparation for re-accreditation every two years.
To select, label, compound and dispense pharmaceutical products in accordance with a prescription by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complying with all legal requirements as appropriate when not providing accuracy checking.
To ensure the safe and correct transfer of dispensed items to patients.
To identify medicine related problems or queries and bring these to the attention of the pharmacist.
To answer queries on the supply and availability of medicines, where it is within your competence.
To accurately maintain Patient Medication Records (PMR) to ensure patient safety and in accordance with data protection requirements.
To receive stock in accordance with SOPs.
To ensure the safe and appropriate storage of medicines.
To assist with stock control and the maintenance of reasonable stock levels within the dispensary.
To respond to telephone and email queries of a routine pharmaceutical nature from patients or their representatives and to refer queries to the pharmacist when appropriate.
To liaise with other healthcare professionals to assist in the continuity of patient care across primary and secondary care.
To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical matters by complying with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
To assist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by carrying out reasonable duties as determined by needs of the business.
Person specification:
Qualified to level 3 NVQ, BTEC or Diploma in pharmacy service skills and pharmaceutical science.
Registered with GPhC and compliant with standards for pharmacy practice.
Committed to CPD and can show evidence of participation.
Good attention to detail and high levels of concentration.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Excellent team working skills.
High level of IT literacy and numeracy.
