Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a positive experience to customers and possess a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, ensuring high quality standards.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, equipment, and customer areas in accordance with food safety standards.
Restock supplies such as cups, lids, condiments, and ingredients as needed throughout shifts.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including food safety procedures.
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.

Experience

Previous barista experience or work within a food service environment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety regulations is beneficial.
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is preferred.
Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills including time management are essential to manage multiple tasks efficiently during shifts. Pay: £8.00-£13.21 per hour
