JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Photographer & Photo Editor
We are looking for a talented and passionate Photographer & Photo Editor to support our fast-paced, creative work within the Asian wedding industry. This role requires a strong eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
You should have a genuine passion for visual storytelling and be confident in professionally capturing multi-day Asian weddings and events, including ceremonies, receptions, pre-wedding events, couple portraits, family photographs, décor, details, and candid moments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of professional photography equipment, lighting techniques, composition, posing and directing couples, as well as experience working in challenging and fast-changing wedding environments. The candidate must also be proficient in professional photo editing and colour-grading software.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
There are no formal academic or professional qualifications required for this role. What matters most is proven experience in wedding photography and a strong portfolio demonstrating technical ability, creativity, and consistency.
Candidates with hands-on industry experience, creativity, and a strong understanding of photographing live events are strongly encouraged to apply, regardless of educational background.
A minimum of 2 years' professional photography experience is preferable, particularly within weddings, events, or the Asian wedding industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select subjects and independently plan compositions, angles, framing, and lighting
- Capture high-quality professional photographs throughout weddings and other events
- Photograph key moments including bridal and groom preparations, ceremonies, entrances, couple shoots, family portraits, receptions, décor, details, and candid interactions
- Direct and pose couples, families, and groups professionally and efficiently
- Arrange subjects, lighting, camera equipment, flashes, and other photography equipment
- Select appropriate lenses and adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and other camera settings according to the environment
- Follow fast-moving live action and anticipate important moments throughout wedding events
- Work confidently in both natural-light and low-light environments
- Use professional flash and off-camera lighting techniques where required
- Capture a combination of editorial, traditional, candid, documentary, and creative wedding photography
- Check the operation, settings, positioning, and condition of cameras and photography equipment before and during assignments
- Manage memory cards and ensure photographs are stored safely throughout each event
- Back up and transfer all photographs to the designated server after each shoot
- Organise, select, and prepare photographs for the post-production process
- Professionally edit, retouch, colour-correct, and colour-grade photographs
- Maintain consistency in image quality and editing style across complete wedding galleries
- Work closely with videographers, content creators, coordinators, and other members of the production team
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach when working with clients, families, guests, venues, and other wedding suppliers
- Take responsibility for photography equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and prepared for upcoming assignments
