Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chef/Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our busy takeaway food team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn to prepare, cook and present high standard good quality takeaway food, you must have iniative excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, most importantly cleanliness of the workplace and self hygiene.This position is fully paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop and use skills and gain valuable experience with us.

Candidates must be 18+ and available to work Tuesday to Sunday evenings and a minimum of 5-10pm .

Duties

Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in meal preparation, ensuring timely service during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
Assist with food presentation and packing to ensure visual appeal
Handle food storage appropriately, including labelling , dating and rotating stock to minimise waste
Support in cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly
Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment
Serve customers or assist with serving as required during service hours, including telephone enquiries and orders.

Qualifications

Preferably experienced in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a kitchen environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience working in restaurants or catering services is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail is very important
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and responsibilities as needed

This role requires someone reliable, able to read and listen to instructions regarding recipes, preparation and cooking, be able to use kitchen equipment such as grills, pizza ovens, fryers etc, once training on our menu has been given , employees will be expected to use iniative and responsibility to ensure daily tasks are done without constant supervision or monitoring.

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
