Job Overview

We’re on the lookout for confident, friendly and energetic Front of House & Sandwich Makers to join our vibrant team, across three of our brands. Mamma's Pizza, o'Olivieros and Olivetta - all based in the gorgeous Grassmarket.

In this role, depending on which venue; you’ll be the face of our establishment, creating a welcoming atmosphere while preparing delicious sandwiches and light bites. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure every guest has a fantastic experience from the moment they walk in. If you love food, enjoy engaging with people, and thrive in a lively environment, this could be the perfect fit for you!

Duties

Prepare a variety of sandwiches & cakes following established recipes and standards.
Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and serve with a friendly attitude.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including counters and seating spaces.
Assist in taking payments, handling cash or digital transactions efficiently.
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
Ensure food safety standards are met during preparation and service to keep everything fresh and hygienic.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve guests promptly without sacrificing quality.

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
Strong communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members.
Basic math skills for handling transactions and portioning ingredients accurately.
Knowledge of food safety regulations to ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients.
Kitchen experience or culinary background helps in understanding food prep techniques.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
A proactive attitude with a focus on upselling menu items to boost sales and guest satisfaction.
