About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and professional experienced Laravel and PHP Developer to join our development team. You’ll play a key role in renovating and replacing our existing legacy systems, building and maintaining new web applications and APIs that power our products and services. This role is ideal for someone confident in full-stack development and eager to contribute to forward-thinking solutions.
Work Model
This is a mainly remote role. Your first week will be onsite in Suffolk or Norfolk, you'll primarily work offsite, with an expectation to be in the office one day per month (negotiable) to support collaboration, planning, and team cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and renovate existing web applications and API’s using Laravel and PHP.
- Develop and maintain new scalable web applications using Laravel and PHP.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external use.
- Work with MySQL for data handling, queries, and performance optimization.
- Maintain clean, well-documented code using Azure DevOps.
- Use VSCode and modern development tools to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in testing, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to discussions around architecture, dev practices, and feature planning.
- Interact with users to capture and define requirements.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of professional experience with Laravel
- 2+ years of professional experience with PHP.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, including complex queries and schema design.
- Solid experience with HTML, CSS, and frontend integration.
- Proven ability to build and consume RESTful APIs.
- Comfortable with VSCode and Git in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal in English.
- Willingness to learn the business domain and industry.
- Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship now and in the future.
