We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Grant and Trust Fundraiser to join our charity. The successful candidate will play a vital role in securing funding through grants and trust donations, supporting our mission to make a positive impact within the community and ensuring financial sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your fundraising expertise, relationship management skills, and to develop and maintain strong partnerships with funding bodies. The position is paid and ideal for individuals passionate about advancing charitable causes through strategic fundraising initiatives.
This is a fixed term role, but we are looking to secure funding to make it a permanent role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies targeting grants and trust funds.
- Identify potential funding opportunities aligned with organisational goals.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
- Manage relationships with existing donors, trusts, and grant-making organisations to foster ongoing support.
- Organise events, campaigns, and outreach activities to promote the organisation’s mission and attract new supporters.
- Collaborate with programme teams to gather necessary information for funding applications.
- Monitor grant progress and ensure timely reporting to funders in accordance with their guidelines.
- Stay informed about trends in fundraising, public relations, and community engagement to maximise outreach effectiveness.
Experience
- Proven experience in fundraising, particularly within grant writing and trust management.
- Strong background in relationship management with donors, trusts, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of marketing principles as they relate to fundraising campaigns.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
- Experience in public relations or community engagement is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop persuasive proposals and reports that align organisational goals with funder priorities. Financial & Strategic Support
Support the Chair of Trustees and Charity Manager, in monitoring grants and trusts fundraising income against targets and identifying funding gaps.
Contribute to funding plans that support the charity’s long-term sustainability.
Ensure funding applications accurately reflect project and service costs.
Person Specification
Essential
Proven track record of securing funding from trusts, foundations and/or statutory funders.
Excellent bid writing and reporting skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage funders professionally and confidently.
Good analytical and financial understanding, including interpreting project budgets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising databases/CRM systems.
Ability to work independently and proactively within a small team environment.
Desirable
Knowledge of Great Yarmouth's local community and funding landscape.
