Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts and Tax Senior to join our dynamic financial services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, preparing tax returns, and providing expert financial advice to clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in various accounting software and financial management tools within a collaborative environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong background in financial accounting and a passion for mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
Oversee the preparation of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to current legislation
Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms to maintain accurate financial records
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering professional development
Assist clients with financial management strategies and optimise their utilisation of accounting tools
Conduct detailed reconciliations and analyse financial data to support decision-making processes
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and industry regulations to ensure compliance

Skills

Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other financial management tools
Strong understanding of financial services, financial accounting, and tax regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Demonstrated mentoring ability to support the growth of junior staff members
Proficiency in accounts payable processes and overall financial management practices
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and team members confidently
