Full job description

Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and improving the quality of care delivered across our domiciliary care services. You will work closely with the Registered Manager, Care Coordinators, Field Care Supervisors, and Care Workers to ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, company policies, and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out regular quality assurance audits of care records, care plans, medication records, and staff files.
Conduct service user quality assurance visits, spot checks, and satisfaction surveys.
Monitor compliance with CQC regulations, Health and Social Care Act regulations, and company policies.
Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to maintain high standards of care.
Investigate complaints, incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Support the Registered Manager during CQC inspections and internal audits.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare quality assurance reports.
Ensure care plans and risk assessments are accurate, up to date, and reflect individuals' current needs.
Support staff through coaching and guidance to promote continuous quality improvement.
Assist with staff inductions, competency assessments, and refresher training where required.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with GDPR and company procedures.
Promote person-centred care, dignity, respect, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the service.

Essential Requirements

Experience in domiciliary care or health and social care.
Good understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and relevant legislation.
Experience carrying out audits, quality monitoring, or compliance checks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic care management systems.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ/QCF Level 3 or Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
Previous experience in a Quality Assurance, Compliance, Field Care Supervisor, or Senior Care role.
Knowledge of safeguarding adults, MCA, DoLS, infection prevention and control, and medication management.
