Full job description

Role: Service Engineer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of premier farm equipment from JCB Agriculture, Amazone and McHale to name a few. The successful applicant would be expected to but not limited to the following:

Service and maintain JCB and other agricultural machinery to the manufacturers specifications and to ensure machine reliability and safety.
Have a keen eye for detail, reporting machine defects and upselling the services provided by the company wherever possible.
Successfully diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain and various other faults prior to initiating and completing a repair.
Operate diagnostic software via a laptop computer when required (training will be given).
Complete a detailed report of work completed along with supporting photographs and documentation of all worked times.
To have a good understanding of GPS, Telematics, and machine controllers.
Be able to carry out any welding and fabrication works when needed would be an advantage.
Consult with supplier’s service departments over operational matters.
Attend factory training days when available.
Working hours Monday – Friday, additional hours and weekend work as required due to seasonal demands.

Ideal Experience:

Must have a full UK driving licence.
Knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally in the agricultural, commercial vehicle or construction industry. Ideally, have a relevant qualification within the field of Land Based Engineering
Ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience.
Time Management – Ability to set timescales to own tasks to enable completion of duties and to ensure all tasks are carried out within a timely manner whilst not compromising safety.
Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods.
The ability to communicate with customers and other work colleagues with a flexible approach to completing the assigned tasks.
Capable of working on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Computer literate.
Own the tools to carry out the job – diagnostic and special tolls will be provided.

This position attracts an excellent package including:

A competitive salary £38,208 -£42k OTE depending on experience, paid hourly.
Overtime available especially during peak season
