THE TEAM
You will join the Legal & Litigation team within the General Counsel’s office, working alongside European and English lawyers and paralegals. You will report directly to the French Legal Advisor and be part of a diverse and dynamic legal function that also includes Cybersecurity, GDPR, Company Secretariat, Governmental Affairs, and Airport Regulation teams.
THE ROLE
As a Consumer Claims Paralegal, you will manage consumer legal challenges related to operational disruptions, focusing on mediation and ADR cases in French-speaking countries. Your responsibilities will include:
Processing legal claims for compensation and refunds for flight delays and cancellations under EU 261 legislation, the Montreal Convention, and easyJet’s terms and conditions
Assessing consumer claims promptly to decide on legal challenges
Preparing defence statements with external advisors and handling ADR cases such as conciliations
Supporting customer service teams with pre-action cases and ensuring accurate data updates in easyJet’s systems
Liaising with courts and managing administrative follow-up for litigated claims and mediation cases from start to settlement or judgement
Advising customer service on consumer law enquiries and maintaining databases and payment records
Occasionally translating legal documents into French
Requirements of the Role
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Fluent or native French speaker with minimum C1 level
Legal background or experience as a paralegal/legal assistant, ideally with an interest in civil litigation
Knowledge of aviation industry regulations, EU261 legislation, and French civil procedure law is advantageous
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage large workloads efficiently
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable working with data and proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Additional European language skills are highly regarded
