Technical Services Manager

We are seeking a Technical Services Manager to supervise and lead the Operations & Maintenance engineering team, taking full responsibility for the direction, coordination and evaluation of site maintenance activities across the portfolio.
This role will ensure all engineering operations are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with contractual and statutory requirements.
Job Description
We are looking for a technically strong leader from a Facilities Management background who can manage engineering teams, drive performance, oversee critical electrical and mechanical systems, and work closely with the Facility Manager and client stakeholders to ensure high standards of service delivery and asset protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and manage the day-to-day performance of the Operations & Maintenance engineering team
- Ensure statutory, routine and contractual PPM compliance is maintained between 95–100% month on month
- Act as, or work towards appointment as, SAP and HVAP Electrical Authorised Person for the sites
- Plan, support and direct HV shutdowns, critical switching and safe systems of work
- Allocate work tickets and preventative maintenance tasks and ensure completion within SLA
- Review, edit and maintain SOPs, MOPs and EOPs to support safe site operations
- Coordinate contractors and vendors, ensuring safe access, supervision and protection of critical load
- Work closely with the Facility Manager and client representatives to plan engineering programmes and resolve operational issues
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within a Facilities Management environment managing an engineering team
- Strong technical background in either electrical or mechanical building services
- Demonstrable experience managing KPIs, capacity planning and performance reporting
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing vendor contracts
- Practitioner-level experience of Technical Services within a building services environment, ideally within integrated FM across Financial Services, Manufacturing, Industry or Healthcare
- Strong working knowledge of BMS systems, statutory compliance and critical maintenance activities
- Ability to manage performance improvement plans and lead recruitment to maintain full resourcing
Qualifications
- Vocational education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- In-country Chartered, Registered or Licensed Engineer status
- UK driving licence (car or car allowance provided)
