Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced waste handler using a wheeled excavator (rubber duck machine) to manage and process waste materials efficiently and safely. You need to be a reliable, hard worker with excellent time keeping. You will prefer outdoor work whatever the weather.

Duties

Operate waste handling machinery primarily the "rubber duck" wheeled excavator with precision and care
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
Load, unload, and transport waste materials using heavy machinery, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge
Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime
Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently during daily operations, including heavy lifting techniques
Assist in maintaining a clean work area by clearing debris and ensuring equipment is stored properly

Qualifications

Proven mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate complex machinery confidently
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
Prior experience in waste management or industrial machinery operation is preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail with excellent safety awareness and adherence to protocols
Ability to follow instructions precisely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively

This is an immediate start temporary position.
