About the Role
Hytec Castings Limited is a specialist light‑metal foundry based in Coventry, producing high‑quality aluminium and copper‑based castings for engineering, marine, electronics, diesel engine and defence applications. We combine traditional foundry craftsmanship with modern processes, including chemically bonded sand moulding and gravity die casting. Our capabilities range from small precision components to castings up to 7,000 kg, supported by in‑house chemical analysis, dimensional checks and rigorous quality control.
We are now seeking an Experienced Foundry Worker to join our team and support furnace operations, casting inspection and wider production activities. The successful candidate will work closely with a member of the senior management team, ensuring support, guidance and shared responsibility across all key tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and control furnaces (charging, modification, molten metal handling)
- Monitor temperatures and process conditions safely
- Inspect castings and identify defects
- Support goods‑out and sand moulding when needed — these are relief duties, not daily tasks
What You Need
- At least 3 years’ foundry experience
- Confidence working with molten aluminium or other non‑ferrous metals
- Strong quality and defect‑spotting skills
- Someone who follows processes and works safely
Hours & Pay
- Mon–Thurs, 06:30–16:15
- Overtime opportunities available
- Pay negotiable, dependant on experience but starting rate exceeds National Minimum/Living Wage
