Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled SEO Manager to lead and optimise our digital presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of search engine optimisation strategies, content management systems, and web analytics tools. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement innovative SEO campaigns that enhance our online visibility and drive organic traffic. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing SEO initiatives across various platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and staying abreast of the latest industry trends. A background in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with WordPress & Woocommerce is essential, alongside experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the company on SEO strategy
- Manage content delivery with our content team
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings and increase organic traffic.
- Conduct keyword research and optimise website content, metadata, and images accordingly.
- Manage and update content management systems such as WordPress to ensure SEO best practices are implemented effectively.
- Analyse website performance using Google Search Console and Google Analytics; generate reports to inform optimisation efforts.
- Implement technical SEO improvements including HTML, CSS, JavaScript adjustments, and site structure enhancements.
- Monitor and optimise website speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall user experience.
- Utilise Google Tag Manager for tracking conversions, events, and other key metrics.
- Collaborate with content creators to develop engaging content that aligns with SEO objectives.
- Report to the directors on SEO performance, reviewing successes and areas of improvement.
- Review site structure and architecture in line with current best practices.
- Stay informed on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices to maintain competitive advantage.
Experience absolutely needed
- Proven experience as an SEO Manager or similar role within a digital marketing environment (3+ years). Note; we would also consider candidates looking for their first step into a senior role.
- Proficiency in using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager or similar for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrable understanding of metadata optimisation and on-page SEO techniques.
- Familiarity with technical website audits and implementing technical fixes to enhance site performance.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of Woocommerce
- Strong writing ability
- Experience in an e-commerce setting
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress / Woocommerce content management systems (coding is not a requirement)
Nice to have
- Direct experience in the vape or other regulated industry
- Agency experience working on high level clients
- Experience in a startup / high responsibility role

You'll have excellent technical experience and ability with a flair of commercial aptitude and strong written communication skills. You will likely be a self-starter who leads the charge, not somebody who simply follows orders.

Salary is £35k-£45k depending on experience and credentials.
