Full job description

STARTS 8TH JUNE 2026 FOR FEW WEEKS

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and safety-conscious Banksman to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing vehicle movements on-site, ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment. This role requires excellent communication skills, a good understanding of construction site protocols, and the ability to operate vehicles safely. The Banksman will play a vital role in maintaining smooth operations and preventing accidents during lifting and manoeuvring activities.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise vehicle movements on-site, including lorries, cranes, and other heavy machinery
Use clear hand signals and radio communication to coordinate activities effectively
Ensure that the area around lifting operations is clear of personnel and obstructions before movements commence
Assist drivers with manoeuvring vehicles into designated positions safely
Conduct regular safety checks to identify potential hazards and report them promptly
Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and safety inspections
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

Previous experience in construction or a similar industrial environment is preferred
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly relay instructions under pressure
Valid driving licence with experience operating various types of vehicles on-site
Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and protocols is advantageous
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
