We're looking for an experienced NPD Food Technologist to join our team and play a key role in developing innovative chocolate and confectionery products from concept through to launch.
About the Role
This role is focused on creating and developing innovative chocolate products, from initial concept and recipe formulation through to successful commercial launch. Working closely with Production, Quality, Commercial and Procurement teams, you'll help deliver products that meet quality, regulatory and commercial requirements while driving creativity and continuous improvement. A key part of the role will be scaling products from kitchen and pilot trials into full factory production, ensuring robust and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine recipes across a range of premium chocolate products
- Lead kitchen, pilot and factory trials, supporting scale-up into production
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Commercial and Procurement teams
- Conduct sensory evaluation, benchmarking and product optimisation
- Ensure products meet food safety, legal and customer requirements
- Troubleshoot formulation and processing challenges to deliver successful launches
What we are looking for?
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
- 2+ years' experience in NPD within food manufacturing, ideally confectionery or chocolate
- Knowledge of chocolate processing, ingredients and product development
- Experience of factory trials and commercial scale-up
- Strong organisational, project management and communication skills
- A creative, hands-on approach with a passion for innovation
