Job Description – Finance & Reporting Officer
Location: Lymington (Office-based)
Hours: 15 hours per week (to be worked over Monday–Friday, set hours to be defined by successful candidate), including availability to represent the charity at fundraising and networking events as required.
Salary: £40,000 per annum (pro-rata equivalent to £15,000 per annum)
Reporting to: Director of Operations / CEO

Role Purpose:
To ensure accurate financial management, timely reporting, and clear financial oversight. The role provides consistency, control, and reliable financial data to support decision-making and funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Book keeping
· Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
· Reconcile transactions regularly
· Manage financial systems and records
2. Financial Reporting
· Produce monthly P&L reports for the CEO and Board
· Ensure reports are delivered consistently and on time
3. Budgeting & Funding Support
· Prepare budgets for funding applications
· Align budgets with organisational priorities
4. Forecasting
· Develop financial forecasts
· Support strategic decision-making
5. Payments & Operations
· Process invoices and payments promptly
· Ensure financial responsiveness across the week
6. Financial Structure & Coding
· Maintain chart of accounts and tracking categories in Xero
· Ensure correct coding of all income and expenditure
· Track restricted and unrestricted income accurately
7. Compliance
· Liaise with accountants and Treasurer
· Support annual accounts and reporting requirements
Working Pattern:
Primarily office-based with flexibility for remote working where agreed.
Success Measures:
· Reports delivered on time every month
· Accurate financial tracking and coding
· Clear visibility of restricted vs unrestricted funds
· Smooth financial operations with no delays
Essential Skills:
· Xero proficiency
· Bookkeeping and reporting experience
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to work independently
Desirable:
· Charity finance experience
· Understanding of restricted vs unrestricted funding
