XYZ Machine Tools LTD, founded in 1984, is the largest machine tool supplier in the UK, selling over 25,000 CNC machines a year. XYZ supply a range of CNC metal working machines including lathes, milling machines. We also hold ISO 9001 and ISO14001 quality and environmental accreditations. We have a modern 98,000 sq ft facility situated 5 minutes from the M5 (J27) easily accessible from Taunton, Wellington, Tiverton and Exeter.

Job Role

XYZ Machine Tools is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to cover maternity leave (12 month contract) and play a key role within the finance department, supporting the finance manager in delivering accurate finance and administrative support across the business.

This position requires a proactive, detailed mindset, excellent organisational and Excel skills, and the ability to work independently as well as building relationships across the different teams throughout the business.

Responsibilities

Raising machine sales invoices and liaising with customers and finance companies to ensure prompt payment and on time deliveries
Assist with admin, weekly and margin analysis reporting
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and month end journals
Fixed assets
Support the finance manager with annual statutory audit and monthly accounts preparation
Weekly, monthly & DD payments
Processing of postponed VAT and import duty charges
Provide cover for administrative team (sales orders/accounts queries)
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure financial data is robust and reliable.
Bookkeeping & contact for small overseas subsidiary
Any other general admin tasks relating to finance

What you will need

Currently studying towards, or holding, an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE
Ideally experience working within a Finance team within a manufacturing environment.
Experience of ERP Systems (Microsoft Business Central Preferred)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good knowledge of financial systems and accounting processes
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and professional approach
Confident Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyse datasets.
A proactive, self-starting approach with strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
