Overview
Engineering Services (Bridgend) Ltd are a well-established family owned and run Engineering company based in heart of South Wales on the M4 Corridor and have been supplying service and equipment to the recycling industry for over 40 years.
Operating from a 40,000 square foot facility we are one of Europe’s largest recycling equipment repair shops.
We are currently looking for an Engineer to join our team, to support the Company management and to be an active participant in the effective day to day running of the engineering department.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical engineering, with experience in project management, design, steel fabrication with a knowledge of heavy plant preferred but not essential.
The position would ideally suit a qualified Engineer (degree/HNC) with some field experience, who is looking for a new challenge. Though an experienced 10+ years engineer working within a similar role without these qualifications would be considered.
The position is office based at our Bridgend works just off the M4 corridor though there will be some travel to visit various customer sites around the UK.
The business has a varied and diverse customer base and would provide an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- To support the Company Management and be an active member of the Team in the day to day running of the engineering department
- The role entails the coordination of the day to day engineering activities, prioritising work loads accordingly.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure the smooth operation of workshop and site jobs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation
- Provide support in troubleshooting issues related to mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is prefered.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modelling and design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and their integration into mechanical systems is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to engineering challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various disciplines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
