Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our hotel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and janitorial services, with excellent leadership skills to manage housekeeping staff effectively. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for coordinating daily cleaning operations, training team members, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient cleaning schedules are maintained.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
Develop and implement cleaning procedures and protocols aligned with hotel policies.
Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
Train new staff members on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations.
Address guest requests or complaints promptly to ensure a positive experience.
Collaborate with management to plan special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, training, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or hospitality environments, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of janitorial practices, cleaning chemicals, and safety standards.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management.
Attention to detail to ensure all areas meet high cleanliness standards.
Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by hotel operations.
Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable; prior janitorial experience is also advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to lead a professional housekeeping team within a dynamic hospitality environment, contributing significantly to guest satisfaction through impeccable cleanliness standards.
