Alsico UK is part of the Alsico family of companies, a third generation privately owned Belgium business founded in 1934, today we employ over 8000 people and dispatch over 18 million garments a year. The Alsico group is the largest purchaser of workwear fabrics in Europe.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for delivering high‑quality support to customers, handling enquiries efficiently, and ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience. This role plays a key part in maintaining customer satisfaction, supporting internal operations, and contributing to the company’s service standards and overall objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

Handle incoming calls, emails, and customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Process customer orders, requests, and updates accurately.
Resolve customer issues effectively, ensuring clear communication and a positive outcome.
Managing customers’ expectations

Health & Safety Compliance

Follow all company health & safety policies and office‑based procedures.
Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.

Stock & Order Management

Monitor stock levels within customer orders and liaise with internal teams regarding shortages or delays.
Track order progress and provide proactive updates to customers.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with colleagues across Sales, Operations, and Administration to support seamless service delivery.
Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Administrative Duties

Update customer records and internal systems accurately.
Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and general office paperwork.
Highlight any recurring issues or service improvements to management.

Accuracy and efficiency of order processing
Customer satisfaction and response times
Compliance with health & safety and data protection standards
Achievement of service targets and team goals

Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a customer service, administrative, or office‑based environment
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and customer management systems
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and manage workloads effectively
Team‑focused with strong interpersonal skills

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Training

Relevant customer service or administrative training (desirable)
Additional system or software training depending on business needs

Experience

Previous experience in a similar customer service or office‑based role
Experience working with order processing or CRM systems (preferred)

Skills & Knowledge

Strong customer handling and problem‑solving skills
Knowledge of office procedures and customer service best practices
Understanding of data protection and compliance
