Full job description

Homebird Interiors St Annes

We are looking for a friendly and experienced Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Homebird Interiors St Annes. Ideally, we'd like someone with retail experience, preferably within the homeware and furniture sector.

This is a part-time position and will be for 3 days per week (including one weekend day each week) with the possibility of more shifts during busier periods of the year and to cover staff holidays. The ideal candidate will be flexible to be able to take on more shifts as and when required.

As a key member of our store, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean, welcoming and organised store environment. Your passion for homeware and your ability to build rapport with customers will be essential to your success.

Duties

Assist customers with product selection and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases.
Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising. Displaying new stock within the Homebird merchandising guidelines.
Handle customer inquiries via phone and in-person with exemplary phone etiquette.
Process transactions accurately while demonstrating the ability to use different electronic systems to log orders and manage stock.
Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within the operational hours.
Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and improve overall store performance.
Maintain stock levels and assist with inventory management as required.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers, retaining a lot of product knowledge and awareness of new and existing products.
Strong IT skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
Excellent organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently and quickly.
Time management abilities to prioritise responsibilities effectively.
