We wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team and to work closely with our SENDco and class teachers to support our children in our inclusive and friendly school. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to support the progress and achievements of children with additional needs across the primary phases. They will have a passion for and experience of working with pupils across a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, and a long-term health condition where the child needs the support of appropriate equipment to promote independence and is reliant on adults to support their daily care needs. The successful candidate will be kind, caring and have good relationship building skills. They will be proactive, able to work off their own initiative, and model good practice in SEND provision. They will be physically fit as the role requires some moving and handling.
The successful candidate must be able to work effectively as part of a team and have a good standard of English and Maths.
Working closely with the class teachers and SENDco, the success candidate will:
- Develop a positive and nurturing relationship with the children they are supporting and place this at the centre of all learning provision.
- Support learning in class under the direction of the class teacher / SENDco.
- Deliver individualised support interventions across the week and promote the development of independence over time.
- Deliver a mixture of 1:1 and small group learning activities in such a way that facilitates engagement and learning.
- Support and develop social and behavioural skills within the classroom and during outdoor play.
The hours are 31.25 per week, 8:45 3:30, Monday-Friday (term-time only).
This position is full time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ2 qualification or higher
- GCSE's Grade 4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
- Additional SEND qualification(s)
- First Aid Certificate
- Moving and Handling Training or willingness to undertake
Essential Experience
- Experience of working with children within the primary phase
- Recent, relevant experience of working with children with SEND
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working with a range of SEND needs including SEMH, Autism and physical needs.
