Duties
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Work closely with targeted students to support behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing
- Build positive relationships with students who may be disengaged from learning
- Deliver tailored support programmes for individuals and small groups
- Manage and de-escalate challenging situations with confidence and care
- Support students in developing positive behaviours and returning successfully to mainstream learning
- Contribute to behaviour plans, pupil profiles, and ongoing pastoral support strategies
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress
- Promote a safe, supportive, and structured environment within the Inclusion and Behaviour Support Centre
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral leaders, families, and external agencies
- Support behaviour management across the school, including breaktimes and lessons
- Play an active role in school systems such as detentions and morning duties
Skills
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting young people and making a difference
- Resilient, calm under pressure, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
- A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Experienced (or eager to develop experience) in supporting students with behavioural or SEMH needs
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- A proactive team player who can also work independently
- Committed to safeguarding, equality, and student wellbeing
Essential requirements:
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
- Good ICT skills, including the ability to use databases

Role details:
- Hours: 35 per week (Mon–Fri 8:15am–3:45pm)
- Weeks: 39 weeks + 5.6 weeks paid holiday
- Salary: £21,027 (FTE: £25,989)
- Start: 1st September 2026
