Contract Type:Self-employed. This role is best suited to someone looking for a long-term working relationship, ideally 2 years+.
Hours:8 hours per week, split as follows:
- Tuesday morning, UK time: 2.5 hours, in person
- Wednesday morning, UK time: 2.5 hours, in person
- Thursday morning, UK time: 2.5 hours, remote
- An additional 30 minutes will need to be added to one of the above working days, or completed outside of these times depending on project deadlines. Flexibility will be required.
Rate of Pay:£15-£18 per hour, dependent on experience.
Location:
3 days per week in person in Darley Abbey, Derbyshire, UK - highly preferable but not essential for the perfect candidate. Discretionary potential to switch to wfh on a Thursday once you've settled into the role.
The successful applicant will invoice at the end of each month for the previous month’s hours.

Walker Music is the dance music consultancy service founded by JoJo Walker, previously Director at Brooklyn Mirage and Halcyon SF.
Currently based in Darley Abbey, Derbyshire, JoJo provides a variety of services to the electronic music industry, including event management, production, artist management, bookings, creative vision, business strategy and coaching.
Past clients include Defected, Glitterbox and {bash}. Current clients include DJ Mag and Crackazat. Current in-house projects include Walker Music’s Industry Coaching Container and development brand, palais de danse.
Walker Music is a female-run, independent business that strives to bring innovation, creativity and lasting impact to the dance music community and wider industry.
JoJo is the sole employee of the company, with additional freelancers brought in ad hoc for individual projects as required.
The Role
Walker Music is looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Administration Assistant to support the smooth running of the business for up to 8 hours per week.
This role will provide practical day-to-day business support across administration, finance admin, client reporting, research, document creation, note taking and general organisation.
The role would suit someone who enjoys detail, structure, communication and helping a fast-moving creative business stay organised and on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting administration, including logging details, organising records, communicating with the accountant and supporting invoice creation
- Data input, organisation and basic analysis
- Note taking, sharing notes and creating clear action plans
- Research tasks across music, events, business and client projects
- Client report creation
- Document creation and formatting
- Supporting general business organisation and task tracking
- Keeping key admin systems, folders, documents and deadlines up to date
What Walker Music Needs Support With
Day-to-day administration support to ensure the smooth running of the business and free up JoJo’s time to be more client-facing, project-facing and focused on business development.
This role is partly about helping create structure around a busy, creative and fast-moving workload. Support will include keeping track of tasks, organising information clearly, helping follow-ups happen on time and making sure important details do not get missed.
About You
You will be working closely with JoJo, a highly driven creative entrepreneur with a senior background in electronic music, events, artist management and international nightlife culture.
JoJo has worked across major global music brands, venues, artists and events, and is now building Walker Music as an independent consultancy with multiple projects, long-term client accounts and new ideas developing in real time.
This role would suit someone calm, sharp, organised and confident who enjoys supporting an ambitious founder-led business. You need to be reliable, switched on, discreet and genuinely good at getting things done. Experience in a corporate environment is a bonus.
The right person will be comfortable working with a creative leader who moves quickly, thinks big, has high standards and values clear communication, initiative, trust and attention to detail.

- Social media content creation, video / photo editing and follower engagement / growth strategy experience (non essential but valuable)

This role may involve access to confidential business, client, artist, financial and personal information. Discretion and confidentiality are essential.
Requirements
Own laptop, phone and strong home internet connection required.
A minimum of 2 days per week in person with JoJo is highly preferred.
Additional work may be available outside of the proposed hours as projects develop. Optional opportunities to travel to London and abroad for project work may become available in the future.Please note, this is not designed as a short term role or a stepping stone role into artist management, talent buying or event programming. It is an administration and business support role, and the right fit will be someone who genuinely enjoys this kind of work and wants to commit to it long term.
