Job Overview

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities

Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, work surfaces, storage spaces, and waste disposal zones
Support the organization of kitchen supplies and ingredients to facilitate efficient workflow
Ensure health and safety standards are upheld by following proper sanitation procedures and reporting any hazards
Help with setting up dining areas or serving stations when needed to support service staff
Contribute positively to team efforts by staying flexible and proactive during busy service periods

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and sanitation practices
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and moving quickly in a busy setting
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with chefs, servers, and management
Basic understanding of culinary processes or previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus
Enthusiasm for learning new skills related to cooking, serving, or hospitality operations
