Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for a maternity post within our childcare facility. The successful candidate will support the management team in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and leadership development. The Deputy Manager will play a vital part in maintaining organisational efficiency and promoting positive learning experiences for children.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operational procedures.
Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
Supervise and motivate team members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
Engage with children to promote their development, wellbeing, and safety through organised activities and personalised care.
Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and nursery activities.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safeguarding policies.
Organise staff rotas, oversee attendance, and contribute to staff training sessions.
Support recruitment processes by participating in interviews and onboarding new team members.
Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning activities, and reporting.

Skills

Level 5 CCLD completed or willing to undertake
Experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices.
Experience working with children, particularly in nursery or preschool environments.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with children, understanding their individual needs.
Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Valid driving licence is desirable.
Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
