About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable General Builder / Strip-Out Operative to join our restoration-focused damage management company. Based in Bracknell and operating throughout the South East, we deliver high-quality property recovery services following fire, flood, escape of water, impact damage, and other insured events.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and can work efficiently in occupied homes, commercial premises, and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to survey fire and flood damaged properties for strip out requirements
- Carrying out soft and hard strip-out works following property damage incidents
- Removal of damaged building materials including plasterboard, ceilings, flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, and fixtures
- Basic building repairs and reinstatement works
- Assisting restoration technicians and project managers on site
- Loading, unloading, and transporting tools, equipment, and materials
- Ensuring work areas are left safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements
- Completing job documentation and photographic records where required
- Working professionally and sympathetically with customers during challenging circumstances
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Builder, Multi-Trader, Demolition Operative, or Strip-Out Operative
- Good understanding of building construction and property refurbishment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence, up to 3 points due to 'on the road' nature of the role
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to travel throughout the South East and occasionally work outside normal hours when required
- Good communication and customer service skills
- DBS check required
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within insurance restoration, fire and flood recovery, or damage management
- Asbestos Awareness certification
- CSCS card
- First Aid qualification
- Experience operating small plant and power tools
- Multi-trade skills including carpentry, plastering, decorating, or plumbing

About the Role
No two days are the same. One day you may be stripping out a flood-damaged residential property, and the next assisting with fire damage recovery in a commercial building.
