The Senior MDR & Threat Intelligence Analyst will be a key member of a dedicated cyber security team responsible for a pro-active solution designed to protect thousands of business users. The role requires a strong background in threat analysis and threat intelligence, as well as creativity in detecting emerging threats and emerging vulnerabilities.
The focus of the role is to utilise threat intelligence sources, as well as threat hunting techniques and technologies, to detect and respond to threat actor activity in enterprise networks, alongside working with the team to make practical recommendations to mitigate detected threats. To execute this mission, the Senior Analyst will use data analysis, threat intelligence, and cutting-edge security technologies.
Minimum level of expertise and responsibilities:
· Excellent familiarity with the Threat Landscape, Adversary Methodologies and Cyber Defence
· Previous experience in one of the following security areas: CSOC Analyst, Malware Researcher, Threat Analyst, Incident Response - 3 years minimum
· Proven experience in threat analysis and responding to cyber security incidents
· Proven experience in utilising cyber analysis / team lead exp to reduce clients' risk
· Proven internal or external customer facing experience
Minimum level of education and work experience:
· At least 5 years experience and familiarity in one of the following security areas: XDR / MDR Analyst, Malware Researcher, Threat Analyst, Incident Response, threat analysis and threat intelligence
· 5 years of familiarity of the current Threat Landscape and Cyber Attack Methodologies, cyber security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection and secured networks; with internal and external customers
· 5 years’ exposure to business IT, networking, architecture, and security field, including TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, RARP, encryption, network access controls, and incident detection and prevention
· Degree in Computer Science or Information Security through a reputable University would be advantageous
· SANS Certifications (GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GCFA) or other industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, CHFI) would be advantageous but not essential
· Some knowledge of security standards, including NIST, ISO27001, ASD, PCI DSS would be desirable
Technical knowledge:
· Good Experience and Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X; scripting languages and programming, preferably Python; development of automations solutions; Cyber threat hunting; security incident management; cyber threat intelligence; software vulnerabilities & exploitation; analysing large amounts of data; malware analysis; APT/crime-ware ecosystems; exploit kits; SOC and IR operations & methodologies; packet capture (PCAP) analysis using tools such as Wireshark; SIEM technologies such as Microsof Azure Sentinel; root cause analysis and escalation procedures.
