We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Alma Veterinary Hospital on a full-time basis.

Alma Veterinary Hospital is a fully equipped first-opinion practice with excellent facilities and a varied surgical and medical caseload. The hospital features four consultation rooms, separate cat and dog waiting areas and wards, a dedicated dental suite, advanced imaging facilities, and a full in-house laboratory. Our extensive equipment includes a Karl Storz laparoscopy tower, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, orthopaedic equipment, ECG, capnography, and more. We are proud to be the only practice within a 15-mile radius offering laparoscopic surgery, allowing us to provide advanced, minimally invasive care alongside the personal approach of a community-focused hospital.
We have a fantastic and supportive team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 student nurses, and 8 dedicated support staff, including our Practice Manager, Reception and Admin teams, and a Nursing Assistant. Many of our team members have been part of Alma for years, creating a welcoming and collaborative environment where everyone works together and supports one another. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
We know work-life balance matters and offer a sustainable shift pattern between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm. There is a requirement to work 1 night shift per week and 1 weekend every 6. We are happy to consider a 4-day working week also.
General responsibilities include:
- Nurse consults and clinics
- Supporting medical and surgical cases
- Client communication and education
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
