Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator / Estimating Assistant to support our estimating team in delivering accurate and competitive project bids. Responsibilities
- Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed cost estimates for upcoming projects.
- Gather and analyse data related to labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Support the review of project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to ensure accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organised records of estimates, supplier quotations, and relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain competitive pricing and lead times.
- Support the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions within deadlines.
- Keep abreast of market trends, labour rates, and material costs to inform accurate estimations.
Skills
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Good numerical ability and analytical skills for evaluating costs effectively.
- Familiarity with construction or engineering estimating processes is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of cost control principles to help optimise project budgets.
- Proficient in using estimating software or spreadsheets; willingness to learn new tools as required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
