Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Body Man/Painter to join our automotive repair team. This role involves restoring vehicle bodies and applying high-quality paint finishes to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the physical capability for heavy lifting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about vehicle restoration and automotive aesthetics.

Responsibilities

Repairing and restoring vehicle body panels, including dent removal, sanding, and filling
Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking
Applying primer, base coats, and clear coats with precision to achieve a professional finish
Operating hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and paint sprayers safely and effectively
Utilising power tools for bodywork repairs and surface preparation
Performing heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels as required during repairs or assembly
Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and quality expectations
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to facilitate efficient workflow

Requirements

Proven experience in vehicle body repair and painting is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
Mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle structures and repair techniques
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in bodywork and painting tasks
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
Physical stamina to work on vehicles for extended periods in various positions
Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently
