Reporting to the Group CEO we are looking for a Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Groups’ strategy, policies and procedures to optimise the procurement process working with the management teams in Poland, Sweden, USA, Denmark and the UK.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and implement short and long-term purchasing strategies.
Manage scheduling and placement of orders, set pricing agreements and other negotiations with suppliers (including rebates and payment terms).
Manage supplier relationships to ensure the best value, quality and reliability.
Manage orders in system to ensure OTIF deliveries, reduction of overdue orders.
Collaborate closely across the Group (especially with Sales, Production and Finance teams) to unlock joint opportunities and share best practice.
Set and oversee purchasing budgets, aligning with Group budgets and working with the Board of Directors to establish controls and measures.
Set and oversee inventory levels across the Group of 5 locations, aligning with Group budgets and working with the Board of Directors to establish controls and measures.
Establish quality control and ensure supplies meet Company standards.
Drive continuous improvement, cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Skills/experience
A strong knowledge of purchasing principles, practices and procedures, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand and respond to business needs.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills to address issues relating to vendors, pricing and supply chain disruptions.
Ability to be proactive and work in a collaborative manner.
Previous experience with demonstrated success in similar roles, minimum 5 years.
