Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers with Gateman experience to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our client premises, visitors, and assets. Your role will involve, conducting patrols, and enforcing security protocols.
NOTE: this is a 24/7 active site.
Duties:
The role of the gateman is to man the gatehouse, open and close barrier/gates for material or plant access and restrict access through this area unless instructed otherwise from our clients management team. You will be required to log vehicles, visitors and deliveries onto site accurately using the provided visitor log documentation.
The role of the security guard is to ensure the main entrance and exit gates are locked always when the site is vacant, be alert at all times and every hour conduct patrols ensuring the compound, its assets and perimeter security is secured.
Basic housekeeping duties of your own security welfare unit form part of the job role during your shift ensuring your security unit is clean and tidy at all times.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure the security and safety of individuals and property.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, taking appropriate action as needed, also escalating to senior duty management when appropriate.
- Enforce access control procedures, verifying the identity of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary
- Write detailed incident reports and daily log sheets documenting any security-related incidents or violations immediately post an incident.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting our client and visitors with inquiries or concerns.
- adhere and comply with all health and safety legislation and guidance given due to working to highway standards.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of security procedures and protocols
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Excellent observation skills with attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of first aid procedures is preferred
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language.
- Reliability and excellent time management is expected.
