Role Overview
We're looking for an organised and efficient Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the finance function. Working closely with the Finance Manager and key stakeholders, you'll help ensure robust financial control while contributing insights that support growth, creativity and smart decision making. The position is in person, ideally full time but part time negotiable for the right candidate (min 24 hours a week).
Key Responsibilities
- Daily reconciliations of bank accounts and payment platforms
- Upload, verify and process invoices for payment
- Assist with stock reporting
- Assist with payroll processing
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, automations and reporting
- Oversee accounts management of marketplaces
- Support weekly and monthly payment runs
- Monitor accounts payable and receivables
- Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers, customers and stakeholders
- Maintain and update product costings, margin trackers and pricing spreadsheets
- Help produce management reports and KPI summaries
- Support month end routines
- Ensure financial processes follow internal controls and processes
- Support finance system improvement and new tool implementations
- Support with ad-hoc data reporting
- Other administration support as required
- No credit control responsibilities required
Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper or similar finance based role
- Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills and confidence working with finance systems
- Excellent attention to detail and goal orientated
- Collaborative and confident working in a creative business with non-finance teams
- Analytical mindset
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and professionally
- Positive, adaptable attitude suited to a creative, evolving environment
- Excellent numerical skills
- A positive outlook, excellent problem solver and proactive
Desirable Skills
- Experience using Shopify
- Previous experience in a commercial finance role, ideally within eCommerce, retail or a fast paced SME
- Familiarity with accounting software
