Department

The University is seeking to recruit a qualified Accountant on a fixed term basis to join our energetic and dynamic team.

The role will be at the heart of Finance Business Partnering within the University working directly with Academic colleagues, supported by a well-established Finance team structure. You will receive full support and training on University systems, and have the opportunity to participate in exciting projects as part of our continual improvement process.

About the role

You will be responsible for financial partnering and support services to a range of Academic departments, primarily in the Arts and Humanities Faculty but also supporting all University departments through financial processes, responsibilities as a minimum include:

Financial forecasting, quarterly in-year and longer term (including cash flow and depreciation)
Challenging assumptions where appropriate
Business planning and advice
Financial regulation compliance advice

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build a network of key contacts across the University, and be a team player with a drive to get things right the first time.

You will have the ability to both interpret and manipulate data to provide management information of a high standard, and be comfortable using an array of accounting software tools

Experience in higher education is not a prerequisite and we’re interested in hearing from candidates outside of the sector. Part time working patterns at 80% may be considered for this role. The University is currently working to a mixed home and campus based working model, with a minimum of two days spent on campus. Appropriate IT equipment will be provided to facilitate this working arrangement.
